The Story of How Free Birthday Stuff Came to be, and What We Do.
Well hello, and thank you for visiting the Freebirthdaystuff site.
This all came about one evening after a birthday party for a four year old. The party was essentially over and the remaining parents decided to go out on the patio and have some refreshments. At the time I was living in Scottsdale, Arizona and for a September night it was quite warm. Well actually in Arizona most nights are warm, it is when it’s not; that’s the surprise. Anyway, it was hovering around 90 degrees or so, a very dry 90 but it was also about 9:00 pm. Anywhere else would most likely have been a crisp evening.
As we sat around the patio set, we got to talking. Someone asked, how come when you’re a kid you get free stuff on your birthdays? Everyone celebrates but when you hit the adult years the celebrations and acknowledgments somehow disappear with time. Ok, every now and again you get a party or something, but it’s not every year. And, if you want to make it a big deal every year people in general think your nuts!
So, as we told various stories about free things we did get on past birthdays, I got to thinking (yes, I think). “What if there was a website that you could go to and have it send you to places where you could get free things on your birthday?”
So, the next day I went looking for free stuff on the web. Well there are cards, desktop greetings etc… which is ok but I was looking for the GOOD STUFF! I wanted to go and see if I could eat breakfast, lunch and dinner, get dessert have a drink and maybe pick up something or other. Who knows maybe the bank would be giving out free money on my birthday and well you get the idea………..
So, the work began, developing a site that would not be perceived as a spam site, that members could trust with their personal information and that could get members the best selection of freebies available for their birthday. By the way this took a couple of years. I’m a mom and doing this and raising 2 kids at the same time was no easy task.
